Update on a Large Cat Family 4/24/201
The kittens got their second vaccines and Miss Kitty and Cricket are scheduled for their spay/neuter surgeries. They will be ready to go to new homes after 5/15/2021
If interested, apply at https://angelsfurryfriends.org/adoption-application-cats/ (one application for both kittens is enough)
We will give a preference to applicants willing to adopt a bonded pair of Cricket and Miss Kitty, or having other animals of a similar age (learn why two kittens are better than one ), but will consider other responsible applicants as well.
Update on a Large Cat Family 4/18/2021
We have great news about our Large Cat Family rescued back in March. Momma Shadow got spayed last week and is ready to go to a new home!
Terrified and scared she wasn’t friendly initially, but she quickly learnt to trust people and turned out to be a sweet and grateful cat in a caring foster house. She now likes being petted – purrs and meows gratefully in return, rubs over the leg. She prefers napping on a desk over sitting in a lap, and she will be a grate companion to someone who doesn’t need to have affection lavished upon them constantly.
She looks a lot like a Nebelung breed (referred also as ‘longhaired Russian blue’), but she was found on the streets of San Jose, so her true background is unknown.
She is getting along well with other cats and with children, but we don’t know how she would react to dogs. She has excellent litter-box habits , spayed, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, given parasite treatment & flea control.
Apply at https://angelsfurryfriends.org/adoption-application-cats/ if you’re ready to give a loving house for Shadow (she can be adopted alone or with one of her kittens).
Kittens continue staying in a foster care – three of them have an eye infection that requires a long treatment, four other kittens will need to finish vaccinations and get spayed/neutered in May
Update on a rescued cat with kittens 3/16/2021:
10 days ago unfortunately lost two smallest kittens within the first 72 hours out of a shelter R.I.P.
The remaining 7 kittens are much bigger and more independent now – 3 girls and 4 boys! They started using a litter box right away and had their first solid meal today.
Their mom, very feral at first, now enjoys every opportunity to be petted and really appreciates our help with little ones.
Thank you to everyone who donated and applied for adoption. With your help we can help even more families like this
Rescued Kitten's family of 10!
A feral mom desperately needed help in raising her 9 kittens – with such a large litter two kittens were tiny for their age and dehydrated, most others underweight and having URI.
Unfortunately one of the kittens didn’t survive through the first 24 hours in spite of our best efforts and visit to urgent care. R.I.P.
All others, supported with bottle feeding and medical treatment, improved tremendously. Though not all of them are out of the woods yet we’re looking into their future with much more confidence and hope. There is still a lot to be done though – vet visits, vaccinations, microchipping, spraying and neutering, cat milk, food and litter are just some of the items we’ll need to provide before this family can go to new homes.
We can’t do it without you, kind-hearted people who support us in saving vulnerable lives
