Pepito has entropion (inverted eyelids) – he opens his eyes occasionally but feels better when he keeps them shut tight most of the time. Because of this eyelid issue he gets nervous when picked up too quickly or too high. He does get more confident with treats but needs to be handled considerately like a blind kitty and kept safe from bigger family members, at least until his surgery!
Entropion (en-TROH-pee-on) is a condition in which eyelids turn inward so that eyelashes and skin rub against the eye surface. This causes irritation and discomfort.
Pepito will need a surgery at 3-5 months to help him see the world with widely open eyes.
