A Happy and sad moment.. Tosha just boarded the flight Moscow-LA. He will land in California this evening!!! We are very happy, that were able to make this happen!
The sad part is that it’s the last flight, where we are able to bring the Homeless Rescue Dogs from Russia, ahead of CDC ban, that takes effect on July, 14…
Here are the approximate costs of flying a dog from Russia:
Plane ticket $650
Crate $150
Veterinarian documentation for flight $300
Customs $200-250
Pet insurance TBD
Please DONATE to help us cover his costs!
We were able to secure Tosha’s flight to the US on July, 08! We are deeply thankful to a kindest flight volunteer, who stepped up to help Tosha and two more pups to fly here, ahead of CDC ban!
Our funds are exhausted, we are flying over 15 dogs, within such a short period of time, just because we have no other choice, but try to fly as many over here as we can! Tosha and dogs like him, have ZERO chance to be adopted in Russia, where even healthy and young dogs are starving, neglected and often injured on the streets.
We can not help all, but we can change the life of some ..
Tosha was operated, his paw had to be amputated, as doctors had determined for his safety. He spent 3 days at the veterinary hospital after the surgery, and is now resting at the shelter.
Tosha is very sweet, patient and gentle boy. He trusts his caregivers and lets them take care of his post surgery stitches. In spite of what someone had done to him, he is genuinely drawn to people and seeks their attention and enjoys care. They now wait for the stitches to heal and be removed. Tosha will be learning to walk on three paws after that.
Thank you to all who been helping with Tosha’s medical expenses!
We will keep updating you about his progress.
This sweetheart, Tosha, had been living his if not ideal, still somewhat happy and familiar life in his neighborhood, he was everybody’s friend, he just did not have a family. Neighbors would feed his scraps, or he would find some snack in trash, up until some sadists sheared off the sole of his paw.
Tosha did not receive any help for a while, the wound kept getting worse and worse, because it’s kept constantly wet by rain waters, and is covered in mud. Finally, he was brought to a shelter for human help. In order to prevent the spread of infection and a possible leg amputation down the road, he needs antibiotics, medicinal irrigation, and proper nutrition. At the moment, volunteers are awaiting his blood test results that would determine the extent of sepsis and proper treatment plan.
Please help cover his food, medical treatments and care so that he can keep his leg and stay alive!
THANK YOU!
