Meet Lucy – a pretty and vivacious young German Shepherd girl looking for her forever home. Lucy was rescued after being abandoned by her previous owner, we are estimating her age between 9-18 months.
Lucy is very energetic, loves her tennis balls and Frisbees, which makes it easy to exercise her. She loves running around off-leash, and will invite you to play with her as much as she can. She also knows how to chill, and will be happy to curl up next to you after a long walk.
Lucy is a friendly dog, in her foster homes she was exposed to cats, large dogs, lamas and gees. Like all herding breeds she is curious about other animals, but will not chase after them. When other dogs bark and challenge her, she may bark back (she is GSD after all), but she will not go after them. She is also sensitive to corrections and to her handlers, maintaining constant eye contact with you on the off-leash walks. She is whip-smart, and trains easily and enthusiastically.
Once she bonds with her human, she will be a Velcro dog – she loves hanging with people, and will want to participate in any activity for as long as you are there.
She is very good with kids, and is loyal to her people. At her foster home she was watching two young kids, and was gentle and patient with them.
She should be OK with cats and small dogs, if introduced properly, and ensured that they are not constantly challenging her.
Lucy loves her food, and prefers carrots and apples as treats. She is a rare find – well-mannered, sweet, active and beautiful German Shepherd, that will bring a lot of joy and happiness to your life.
